The lure of the deep is undeniable. There is something exciting and mysterious about exploring deeper dive sites. Sometimes it’s a historic wreck, other times a dramatic wall covered in sponges or giant sea fans.

If you want to scuba dive safely and confidently down to 40 meters / 130 feet, the PADI Deep Diver Specialty Course is the essential next step in your diving education.

What Is the PADI Deep Diver Specialty Course?

The PADI Deep Diver Specialty Course teaches you how to manage gas supply, buoyancy, narcosis awareness, emergency procedures, and dive planning for deeper dives beyond 18 meters / 60 feet.

This course significantly expands your diving limits and opens access to some of the most impressive dive sites in Okinawa, including deep walls and historic wrecks.

Okinawa offers exceptional deep dive sites, including the famous USS Emmons WWII wreck, which lies at approximately 40 meters / 130 feet. These sites provide the perfect real-world environment to safely practice deep diving skills under professional supervision.

Theory – PADI Deep Diver eLearning

The theoretical portion of the Deep Diver course is completed through PADI eLearning, allowing you to study dive theory online before the course starts.

  • Must be completed before or during the course days

Course Requirements

  • Minimum 15 years old

  • Advanced Open Water Diver certification (or equivalent)

  • Good physical health (medical statement required)

  • Comfortable underwater and confident buoyancy control

Course Structure

The PADI Deep Diver Specialty consists of 3 open water boat dives, conducted over one full day.

Typical Schedule

  • Meet at Seragaki Port – 7:30 am

  • Arrival at first dive site around 8:40 am

  • 1st & 2nd dives (morning)

  • Lunch break (lunch not included)

  • 3rd dive (afternoon)

  • Return to port around 3:00 pm

Price: ¥35,000 per person (3 Boat Dives)

  • Full diving equipment during the course

  • Boat fees

  • Hotel transfers (Chatan & Kadena area only, for guests without a car)

Important Information

  • Participants under 16 years old should be accompanied by a parent

  • For safety reasons, we recommend at least 18 hours between your last dive and flying

Medical Questionnaire

All participants must complete a medical questionnaire prior to joining the trip. If you have any health concerns, please review the medical form carefully.

Cancellation Policy:

Cancellation up to 2 weeks before: No cancellation fee

Cancellation less than 2 weeks before: 100% cancellation fee

Aloha Divers Okinawa strongly recommends that all guests purchase their own diving and travel insurance. The company is not responsible for injuries or losses sustained during tours.
